Usually yes. Mainstream platforms have documented APIs and we have worked across the common ones. For niche or older systems we assess what access exists - API, database, scheduled file exchange - before promising anything.

There are still routes: direct database access where permitted, scheduled file exchange, or vendor integration modules. Occasionally a system is closed enough that integration is not worth the cost, and we will tell you that rather than build something fragile.

By deciding, field by field, which system owns the truth before any code is written. Most integration problems trace back to two systems both believing they own the same value.

It gets retried with backoff, and if it still cannot complete it is queued and someone is alerted. Nothing fails silently - that is the whole design principle.

Related but not identical. Integration moves data between systems; business automation removes the human steps around it. Most projects involve both.
